"Printic is Love"

This morning I discovered Printic and I have to agree with their perfectly chosen slogan "Printic is love"

Most people have turned into Instagram fanatics. If you were once one of those who were a bit unsure at first, a bit confused by yet another social media app or it was a bit too "hipster" for your liking, you'll have slowly but surely converted into the realm of Instagram. And become totally addicted. Or maybe that's just me?

The main problem with the movement of social media is that it's all online and most pictures are taken, uploaded and forgotten about.

This is where Printic comes in. Printic is an app that you can download from the app store for FREE, where you can upload your Instagram pictures and order them in polaroid prints. Straight from your phone. Simple, easy and fast what is not to love? So now all your fav pics won't be lost somewhere in your iPhone storage. Now is the perfect time to get printing your sweet summer memories.

Here are a few of my summer snaps from Instagram. Make sure to follow me @jessh212

Jean Jullien - Allo?

I stumbled upon the graphic designer Jean Jullien earlier. His series of work used in his first solo show named "Allo?" fascinated me and brightened up my ever so sunny morning that little bit more. The series reflects human interaction in our modern day society, ever changing by the increased use of social media/smart phones.

The jobless checkout assistant and the self service checkout. The man squashed on the tube surrounded by people engrossed in their technological devices. A personal favorite, is the third one down. Simple in style but striking in message is the silhouette of a singer and the observing audience, all whom have a mobile device in hand filming. I think this is one of the most irritating things about the age of technology. I believe people should enjoy the moment. See it through their own eyes. How can you truly experience what you have come to see if you are busy fiddling around with a device and seeing it through a screen?

"I would never turn on a cell phone at any musical event," wrote Roger Waters, former bassist and vocalist for Pink Floyd. "It would seem to me to show a lack of respect to and care for fellow concert goers, or for that matter the artist. Apart from anything else, how could I possibly truly experience the thing I'd paid to see and hear, if I was fiddling with an iPhone, filming or twittering or chatting or whatever?"

I linked in Jean Jullien's webpage above. Click on the link and have a browse and let me know what you think of his work. I think its really clever yet great to look and represents an interesting change in social interaction that has been happening over the last couple of years.
