Sunshine Dreams

Yesterday I awoke to hail stones knocking on my window. No, there was no prince charming standing beneath my window throwing stones with a sudden urge to declare his love. It was just the unpredictable weather rudely informing me morning had broke. Lying in my bed in despair, reality could not be further away from my dreams.

Moments before the sky had its outburst I was sunning myself by the pool in Krabi, Thailand. Oh dreams! Bumbling about the snow with my head in the clouds, (imaginary sun clouds) for the rest of the day my daydreaming mind was playing a videoreel of summer holidays.

Spring - a - ling.

Spring is a calling! Eight days and counting until it is officially spring. Daffodils will be a blooming, birds a singing and all hibernating animals that I'm ever so jealous of will be coming out to play. Its time to officially start coming out of the SAD induced coma and smell the freshly cut grass. With only eight days left of the official winter season, can we hope for sunshine?

Already this week it's been snowing! Hoping to leave this behind, here are my five favourites of spring!

1. Easter vacation

Who doesn't love time off to spend with family and friends?! 

2. Longer and brighter days 

Yes! The sun is still in the sky past 4pm! No more late afternoon darkness blues!

3. Ditching the coat

Laters to the extra thick layers! Back to the back of the wardrobe. It's all about light jackets and cardigans from here on out! 

4. Whats that lurking behind the clouds? Sunshineeee!

Yes! That is the sun in the sky! No more snow clouds just anticipation for warm summer days.

5. Summer wardrobe time

Time to bring out the new wardrobe and officially say bye bye winter 2012.

Let the Vampires do their Job!

All I have to say is the name "Giovanna Plowman" and you know what I'm talking about. Well, if you have a computer...which you obviously do. G.P sped to fame faster than the speed of light when her video went viral in the last few weeks. 

Being part of the Twilight saga/ Vampire Diaries / True Blood generation, blood sucking is all the rage. Who wouldn't want a beautifully chiseled, sparkly boyfriend? Unless you're one of those whose preference is wolfs. (boo!)

Unfortunately G.P pushed these tantalising sexy blood suckers to THE limit. It's alright for Edward and Bella, its cool and we're accepting - not forgetting they're also fictional. In the lengthy five minute video (five minutes too long!) the audience is treated to a harrowing ordeal where the fifteen year old proceeds to suck a used tampon dry. Dirty and disturbing, retching whilst peering through your fingers your ears are treated to Azealia Banks' "212" which blares out of G.Ps smart phone. Whilst this video will not bring sweet music to your ears nor beautiful sights to your eyes it does raise the question of fame and society. Seemingly happy with herself, writing from her twitter account - the mass public are really just a jealous mass from lack of their own fame. Not only that, there's excitement for THAT blue tick, yes - to be "verified". If twitter verifies this account then what has the world come to? Fifteen minutes of fame gone to far? I think so. Good Luck with getting a boyfriend. Good luck with finding a job. Good luck with your college/university application form. I presume the parents are proud?

In the future, leave the bloodsucking to the Vamps!
